Robert "Bob" Cambron, Jr. Obituary

Robert “Bob” H. Cambron, Jr., 75, of Kewanee, died Sunday, May 21, 2023, at his home. Bob was born March 3, 1948, in Princeton, IL, the son of Robert “Howard” and Juanita (Coyne) Cambron. Bob graduated from Wethersfield High School. Bob married Jeanette “Jan” Haderer on May 26, 1977; she survives.

Bob is also survived by daughter, Heather (Troy) Haga, Galva; and their children, Alexis and Taylor Haga; and daughter, Michele (Gary) Peterson, Estes Park, CO; and their children, Devyn Williams and Mason VanDierendonck; a sister, Connie Selman, Henderson, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, John Selman.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1967 until 1973. Bob was a welder and worked in construction. He worked for LMT, Galva, Bomag, and American Eagle. Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Hog Chapter, Kewanee. He also enjoyed photography, metal detecting, hunting in his younger years, and prospecting for gold. Bob and Jan enjoyed going on “Old Fogie Trips” with Bob and Linda. He volunteered with the Christmas Lighting at Windmont and Northeast Parks. He was able to go on the Honor Flight in October 2016. He was a member of the Gold Prospecting Club, Cambridge, and the Kewanee American Legion. Bob also enjoyed his family and friends; especially attending the grandkid’s events.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, May 26, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Curry will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date.
