Robert "Bob" W. Hardy

Robert “Bob” W. Hardy, 85, of Kewanee, died Sunday, November 19, 2023, at his home. Bob was born May 17, 1938, in Kewanee, the son of James L. and Frances M. (Jouron) Hardy. Bob attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1957. Bob married Norma “Jeannie” Wager on April 20, 1958, in Kewanee; she preceded him in death on September 13, 2017.

Bob is survived by three daughters, Donna (Darin) Kistler, Kewanee, Connie (Doc) Hardy, Tulsa, OK, and Robin (Larry) Hampton, Kewanee; son, Mark Hardy, Kewanee; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and four siblings, James Hardy, Buena Park, CA, Richard Hardy, Kewanee; Pamela (Ed) Petty, Kewanee, Michael “Mick” Hardy, Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Brian Hardy in 1988; a great-grandson, Konnor Jones; and several siblings.

Bob worked as a firefighter for the City of Kewanee from 1967 until 1993. Bob previously worked for Walworth, Goods Furniture, and Kewanee Corp. Bob didn’t like to be stationary, he enjoyed always keeping busy. Bob loved going camping with Jeannie; making pizzas and pie over the firepit. He also enjoyed walking, jogging, and bicycling. Bob also enjoyed fishing and watching the Cubs and Bears. Bob was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Monday, November 27, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 27, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Linnea Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
