Ronald "Ron" J. Scott

Ronald "Ron" J. Scott, Sr., 78, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at his home. Ron was born October 26, 1943, in Toulon, Illinois, the son of Bernard E. and Darlene (Ferris) Scott. He married Theresa Kodyra and later divorced. He spent the last 40 years with his soulmate and married Louise "LuAnn" A. Sellers on May 12, 1995; she survives.Ron is also survived by seven children, Ronald J. Scott, Jr., Randall J. Scott, Rodney J. (Toni) Scott, Steven D. Scott, Rhonda J. Scott, Nichole (Brian) Taylor, Tera (Joseph) Hicks; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; five siblings, Leonard (Sherry) Scott, Cheryl Roper, Charlene Mugrage, Bernard (Jeanne) Scott, Dennis (Deirdre) Scott; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leland, Steven, Jerry, and David Scott; and brother-in-law, George Roper.Ron served our country from 1962-1967. He served as an Airborne Medic with the 101st Division USAR that he was very proud of. Ron enjoyed country music, bowling, golfing, and his furry companions, Peppe and FeeFee.Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Memorials may be made to the Iowa City VA Health Care System.
