Ronald “Ron” E. Van Daele, 79, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at his home that he shared with his daughter and son-in-law. Ron was born to the late Cyril and Elsie Van Daele on January 9, 1943, in Kewanee. He was a graduate of Kewanee High School, class of 1961.
Ron owned and operated Van Daele Business Machines for 30+ years, he later worked at and retired from Wal-Mart. He loved playing rolle bolle and was a member of the Western League Bolders Club for many years, he also enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bowling. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and he loved to cruise through town in his ’68 Chevelle.
Ron is survived by three children, Dawn (Ron) Cervantez of Kewanee, Ronnie (Angie) Van Daele of Florida, and Doug (Catie) Van Daele of Springfield. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his siblings, Larry (Pat) Van Daele, Janice Studer, and Tom (Denise) Van Daele. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation will be accorded and per his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VFW – Kewanee 8078, Western League Bolders Club, or the Henry County Humane Society, and forwarded to Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home.
