Ronald "Ron/Monk" Lindquist Obituary

Ronald “Ron/Monk” R. Lindquist, 80, of Toulon, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Allure of Knox County. Ron was born July 24, 1943, in Kewanee, the son of Ray and Hazel (Ballentine) Lindquist. Ron graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1961. He married Karen M. Salz in 1966, in Phoenix City, Alabama; she survives.

Ron is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and their pseudo-son, Eugene (Teresa) Costin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joyce Dye.

Ron was a member of the Army 173rd Airborne Brigade; he did 40 jumps during his time in Vietnam. Ron worked for Hyster for 36 years. He enjoyed running a farm, raising horses and cattle dogs. Ron also helped Karen with her show dogs. Ron was in a softball league until he was 50 years old. He especially enjoyed his fishing trip to Minnesota with Steve Dye.
