Rosalie Anne (Rouse) Poindexter, 78, of Hot Springs, Arkansas and formerly of Bradford and
Kewanee passed away on May 5, 2023, in Hot Springs. Rose, as many called her,
was born on February 12, 1945, Peoria, Il. The daughter of Charles and Bernadine
(Butte) Rouse. She grew up on the family farm near Bradford. Rose was a 1963
graduate of Bradford High School. She attended cosmetology school and was a
stylist for several years at Harvey’s Salon in Kewanee.
Rose married her soulmate Joe Poindexter in 1998. They enjoyed golfing, civil war
reenactments, OU football and being active members in their church and
community.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; one sister, Marlene
Tumbleson; two brothers, Norman and Bill Rouse; her stepson, Scott Poindexter; and
her first husband, Thomas Corwin.
Rose is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Vajdos and their children Noah,
Olivia and Layla all of Fort Worth, Texas; Heather Jobe of Grove, Ok and her son
Nicholas Jobe of Tulsa, Ok.; two stepdaughters, Kelly Moore and Sherry
Fronterhouse; two brothers, Raymond (Carol) Rouse of Bradford, Richard (Mary Jo)
Rouse of Kewanee; a sister-in-law, Hilda Rouse of Henry, Il; sixteen nieces and
nephews; 38 great nieces and nephews; and 42 great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on June 17, 2023, at the Caruth-Hale Funeral Home
in Hot Springs. Private family burial will be in Gravelly, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be directed to the Hot Springs Meals on Wheels or the Hot Springs
Good Samaritan.
