Rose McGee Obituary

Rose Mary McGee, 86, of Kewanee, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Rose was born January 2, 1939, in Kewanee, the daughter of Michael S. and Victoria (Papiernik) Monceski. Rose graduated from Kewanee High School with the class of 1956; the last class to graduate from the old high school. She married Charles A. McGee on November 1, 1958; he preceded her in death on April 7, 1978. She spent 20+ years with Roger Reiman; he preceded her in death on March 4, 1997.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamee (Kirk) Dana, Kewanee; two grandchildren, Allison (Chad) Ensley, Kewanee, Ashley Dana (Ryan Wick), Hartland, WI; and seven great grandchildren, Drake, Joey, Ty, Abbey, Abbrielle Rose, Sawyer, and Bo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; special friend, Roger; granddaughter, Abby Dana; and her siblings, Don, Chet, Lannie, Lawrence “Diaps”, and Eileen.

Rose worked in the cafeteria and was later a bus monitor aid on the Preschool Bus for the Kewanee School District, where she thoroughly enjoyed seeing the kids every day. She worked at Reiman’s Harley Davidson for many years.

Rose's zest for life was evident in her many interests and accomplishments. A lifelong Boilermaker, she proudly held a Golden Boiler Card. Her competitive spirit shone brightly in the bowling alley, where she not only excelled but helped her team get to state. Her prowess and love for the sport earned her a well-deserved place in the Kewanee Bowling Hall of Fame. She was also an avid golfer.

An adventurer at heart, Rose found freedom on the open road riding her own Softail Harley. As a member of the Ladies of Harley and the Hog Chapter, she shared her enthusiasm and sense of camaraderie with fellow riders. A true sports enthusiast, Rose's loyalty to the Bears and Cubs was unwavering.

Traveling with her beloved Roger, Rose explored the wonders of Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her green thumb was evident in her beautifully tended yard. Rose was a member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, a testament to her father's legacy as one of the founding members who helped build the church. Her love for her great-grandchildren was unparalleled, and she was their most ardent supporter, never missing a chance to cheer them on at their sporting events.

Rose Mary McGee will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
