S. Jean Sawickis

S. Jean Sawickis, 81, of Kewanee, died Sunday November 1, 2020 at her home. Jean was born November 21, 1938 in Burns Township, Rural Cambridge, the daughter of Fred A. and Lilas (Sullivan) Lundell. She graduated from Cambridge High School with the class of 1956. She married Veto F. Sawickis in Kewanee; he survives.Jean is also survived by two sons, Danny (Dawn) Sawickis, Spring Hills, FL, Gregg (Denise) Sawickis, Kewanee; two grandchildren, Cole T. Sawickis, Kewanee and Malleri Sawickis, Galesburg; great granddaughter, Chloe; and one brother, Neal Lundell, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Sawickis. Jean was employed at JC Penney, Sawickis Trucking as a bookkeeper, and a sales associate at Lambin's Jewelry in Kewanee until it's closing. She was a caregiver for her mother, husband and two friends. She enjoyed remodeling and decorating homes with her husband. She enjoyed going to the beauty shop every Friday for the last 60 years. She also loved watching Days of Our Lives for the last 60 years.A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, November 6, 2020 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Masks are required and please observe social distancing guidelines.
