Shelby J. Ainley

Shelby J. Ainley, 83, of Kewanee, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Shelby was born February 7, 1937 in Kewanee, the daughter of Otto and Rose (Wicktom) Hepner. Shelby attended Kewanee Schools. She married Richard "Dick" Ainley at the First United Methodist Church, Kewanee on June 3, 1956; he preceded her in death in 2009.Shelby is survived by one son, Troy (Tabitha) Ainley, Kewanee; two daughters, Kelly Ainley, Kewanee, Bryann (Kevin) Gale, Galva; and four grandchildren, Hannah Ainley, Kaylyn Gale, Kinsley Gale, and Klaire Gale. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard.Shelby worked in the office at the Sale Barn and at the Midland Country Club. She loved spending time with her grandkids and attending their activities. She enjoyed reading and working in her yard, taking care of her flowers and plants. She also enjoyed making arrangements and baskets from her flower garden.Private Graveside Services will be Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Pleasant View Cemetery. Pastor Jon Vincent will officiate.
