Thelma Schwerbrock

Thelma "Till" Schwerbrock, 90, of Kewanee, died Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Till was born September 21, 1930, in Moline, the daughter of Tom A. and Alma C. (Johnson) Rosenquist, she grew up in Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge High School, then attended Western Illinois State College. Till married Charles Schwerbrock on May 21, 1955, in Kewanee; he survives.Till is also survived by her children, Chris (Tim) Murray, Davenport, Ann Schwerbrock, Kewanee, David (Katrin) Schwerbrock, Wiesbaden, Germany; daughter-in-law, Karen Schwerbrock, Kewanee; ten grandchildren, Nathan, Karin, Colin, Evan, Calvin, Hannah, Pauline, Bryce, Emilia, Jacob; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Schwerbrock; and a brother, James.First and foremost, family was the most important. Till worked in administrative positions for Peoria Audit Bureau and Boss Manufacturing. After marrying Chuck, they owned and operated Chuck's Food Mart, Kewanee from 1955-1968, Schwerbrock's Red and White Grocery, Tiskilwa, 1968-1976 and Chuck's Meat Market, Kewanee from 1976-1992. She was a member of the church council and taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed being a member of the Dorcas Circle at Zion Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was a member of the Clio Book Club for many years. Private services will take place at a later date. Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson will officiate. Services will be livestreamed on the Zion Lutheran Church Facebook page on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
