Thomas "Tom" D. Hockett

Thomas “Tom” D. Hockett, 68, of Galva, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his home. Tom was born September 12, 1956, in Kewanee, the son of Wendell A. and Wilna M. (Bort) Hockett. Tom attended Stark County High School. Tom married Linda D. Brown in 1983; she preceded him in death on January 23, 2023.

Tom is survived by two sons, Tim Hockett and Edward Hockett; one sister, Joyce (David) Jones, Big Rock, IL; one brother, George Hockett, Kewanee; four grandchildren, Kayla, Kendra and Colton Hockett, Christopher King and two great grandsons, Braxton and Kaine Talbot. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; a sister, Alice Owens; and a stepdaughter, Veronica L. King.

Tom worked multiple jobs such as: a cook, a CNA, and drove semi-truck. Tom enjoyed puzzles, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time out at Johnson-Sauk Trail State Park.
