Virgil L. Sturgeon

Virgil L. Sturgeon, 74, of Kewanee, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Kewanee Care. Virgil was born February 7, 1947 in Horse Cave, Kentucky, the son of Carlos and Frances (Matthews) Sturgeon. He married Wanda Lou Pritchard on January 14, 1967 at the Congregational Church, Atkinson.Virgil is survived by his wife, Wanda; brother-in-law, Ron Pritchard, Geneseo; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Kurt) Lane, Atkinson; Sandy Hannah, Geneseo; brother-in-law, Gary Pritchard, Atkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.Virgil worked for Kewanee Corporation for 37 years and Great Dane for four years. Virgil loved taking care of his vegetable garden. He was a huge Cardinals fan. Virgil was very particular about his car; it was always immaculate.Graveside services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.
