Virginia T. Anderson

Virginia T. Anderson, 98, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2022. She was born August 23, 1923, to August and Mary LaFree in Bremen, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer “Jiggs” Anderson; two brothers, Charles (Ruby) LaFree, Richard (Ann) LaFree; a sister, Bernice LaFree; a son, Jerry Anderson, and a son-in-law, David Turner. Surviving family members are Myra Turner, Dennis (Debbie) Anderson, Yvonne (Gene) Morman, and Sonya (Tim) Deel. Virginia had a long list of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Virginia loved so many things in this life. First and foremost were the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. To have her great-great grandchildren sit in bed with her and play games and watch TV was the highlight of her day. She also taught her great grandchildren to play rummy and Skip Bo, and she almost always won.

Working at Wal-Mart delighted Virginia so much. She made and kept many dear friends there as she did at Kewanee Donut. Working was one of Virginia’s greatest joys and she reluctantly retired at 93. Her favorite hobbies were quilting, card games, traveling, mowing the lawn, and puzzles.

The family of Virginia would like to extend their sincere thanks to Beacon of Hope Hospice Care and Henry County Health Department for their amazing gift of loving care, support, and kindness.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the funeral home.
