Owners/Funeral Directors/Licensed Funeral Celebrant
We grew up in southern
Minnesota and were married in 1998. After having three kids, we decided to
pursue our calling as funeral directors and attended Carl Sandburg College in
Galesburg. We graduated in 2011 with degrees in Mortuary Science. While attending
college we had our fourth child, we then moved to Port Byron, Illinois where
James worked at Gibson-Bode Funeral Homes for six years. Brandee worked at
River View Veterinary Service and at Gibson-Bode Funeral Homes during that time.
We moved to
Kewanee, Illinois in April 2017 to be a part of the Schueneman-Tumbleson
Funeral Home.
Two of our
kids attend Kewanee Schools. Two have graduated from Kewanee High School. They
all enjoy swimming, music, sports, and our family pets.
James is a member of Kiwanis
and enjoys playing disc golf and camping.
Brandee enjoys reading,
crocheting, and quilting. She is also a Certified Funeral Celebrant.
Funeral Director Apprentice
I was born in Kewanee, and raised for most of my childhood
in Princeville, IL. I graduated from Princeville High School in 2021. During
High School I worked as a barista, which made me have the love I have for
coffee today.
After High School I went on to pursue my passion of funeral
directing, so I attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, IL. I
graduated with my associate of applied science degree in March of 2023. During
college I worked at Haskell’s Funeral Home in Princeville from May of 2022 -
January of 2023. I would assist the funeral directors and learn
hands-on-training. After graduating, I moved to Kewanee to start my
apprenticeship at Golnick-Schuneman Funeral Home.
I am a crazy cat lady, so I live with my two fur babies,
Binx and Grim. I enjoy crafting or painting, thrifting, and trying out every
local coffee shop. I am looking forward to serving the community for years to
come.
